GOOD Search is a search engine that doesn't track you, doesn't show ads, and isn't owned by Big Tech. It's built in Europe, operates independently, and is funded by subscriptions — not by selling your data.
Most search engines are free because they earn money by tracking what you search and showing targeted ads. Your searches build a profile that gets used to influence what you see, buy, and read.
GOOD Search takes a different approach: you pay a small subscription, and in return we have no incentive to collect your data. Your searches stay private, and the results aren't shaped by advertisers.
We're founded in Germany, 100% owned by the Good Impact Foundation (a non-profit), and B Corp certified. Subscription revenue supports the cost of running the service and funds climate and social impact projects.
When you search on GOOD Search, your query is sent to one of three independent search providers — Brave, Mojeek, or Staan. We use our own servers as an intermediary: the providers never see your IP address or any identifying information.
Results come back and are shown to you. The query is discarded — nothing is written to a database.
You can choose which provider to use in your search settings. Each has its own index, so the same query can return different results. Learn more about providers.
No ads. Results are ranked by relevance, not by who paid.
No tracking. Searches are not logged. No search history is stored, no behavioral profile is built.
Multiple independent indexes. Instead of routing everything through one Big Tech provider, we use independent search indexes including European ones.
Authentication that helps privacy, not hurts it. Signing in lets us store your preferences encrypted and gives you controls over features like location sharing — it's not used for tracking.
